8. Illinois pěší pluk

The 8th Illinois Infantry Regiment was an Illinois regiment of the Union Army that was active from 25 April 1861 to 4 May 1866 during the American Civil War. Organized at Springfield with men from Coles County, the regiment served in the West, from the Battle of Fort Henry and the Battle of Shiloh to the Second Battle of Corinth, the Battle of Port Gibson, and the Siege of Vicksburg.
