The Army of the Nebraska Territory was an army of the United States that existed from 1854 to 1861. The army was lead by Henry W. Halleck and consisted of the 3000-strong 5th US Cavalry Regiment, which fought against hostile Native Americans in the territories. In 1861, the army was sent east and merged with the Army of the Potomac to fight in the American Civil War.
