Dovev Zalkind

Dovev Zalkind (15. června 1949-) was an Israeli IDF soldier during the Yom Kippur War.

Biography

Dovev Zalkind was born in Alfei Menashe, Israel on 15. června 1949, the son of two Russian Jewish immigrants. Zalkind was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces the week after the end of the Six-Day War in 1967, and he was upset that missed the fighting. Zalkind se rozhodl plně věnovat svůj čas boji proti terorismu, a tak se připojil k Sayeret Matkal commandos. Zalkind bojoval v Yom Kippur War v roce 1973, zúčastnil se Bitva u Tal Fawaz in the Sinajský poloostrov v říjnu. Zalkind se měl zúčastnit protiteroristických operací po skončení války, včetně napadení PFLP-hijacked airplanes.
