Clarence M. Mitchell Jr. Courthouse

The Clarence M. Mitchell Jr. Courthouse is a courthouse in downtown Baltimore, built from 1896 to 1900. In 1903, the courthouse became home to a mural of George Washington's resignation as commander-in-chief of the Continental Army, followed by a statue of Cecil Calvert, 2nd Baron Baltimore in 1908. In 1985, the courthouse was renamed for civil rights hero Clarence Mitchell Jr..
