Bernardine Dohrn

Bernardine Dohrn (12. ledna 1942-) was an American communist and a major leader of the Weather Underground terrorist group during the 1960s and 1970. Dohrn was married to Bill Ayers, another leader of the group.

Biography

Bernardine Ohrnstein se narodila v Milwaukee, Wisconsin dne 12. ledna 1942 na Jewish father and a Swedish mother, and she was a brilliant student, a cheerleader, and editor of the school newspaper at Whitefish Bay High School. In 1963, she graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, and she received her juris doctor from the University of Chicago Law School in 1967. Dohrn pracoval s Martin Luther King, Jr. as a student, and she became involved with students rights advocacy during the late 1960 0s. Dne 18. června 1969 Dohrnová a deset dalších Studenti za demokratickou společnost aktivisté vydali manifest, který uváděl, že cílem revoluce je zničení US imperialismu a dosažení světa bez tříd (svět komunismus). Dohrnová se stala vůdkyní Weather Underground frakce SDS a v květnu 1970 vydala „vyhlášení válečného stavu“ proti vládě USA. Dohrn se rozhodl vyjít z úkrytu po skončení Vietnam War a úpadku kampaně Weathermen, a pracovala v právní firmě Sidleyho Austina v Chicagu, Illinois během 80. let. V roce 1991 se stala profesorkou na právnické fakultě Northwestern University a provdala se za kolegu revolucionáře Bill Ayers. Dohrn se stále držela svých komunistických názorů jako dospělá a stavěla se proti vládě USA a obviňovala ji z terorismu i pod Obama administrativa v roce 2010s.
