Florentin Rossel byl vojákem v German Waffen-SS during World War II. Rossel sloužil v Wilhelm Bittrich's II Panzer Corps SS, bojující se svými tankovými jednotkami během Battle of Normandy and during the fighting in Netherlands in September 1944 during Operation Market Garden. Rossel byl zajat British Army Lieutenant Colonel John Frost's 2nd Parachute Battalion during the Bitva o Arnhem po zranění.
