Dorset

Dorset je hrabství na jihozápadě England on the English Channel coast. Dorset borders Devon to the west, Somerset to the northwest, Wiltshire to the noreast, and Hampshire to the east. Dorchester je hrabské město Dorset. Dorset byl vytvořen jako štít Saxons během 7. století a hrál významnou roli v anglických dějinách, protože byl domovem odborového hnutí v England a také domovem přístavů Portland a Poole, které byly hojně využívány pro Operace Ovelrord v roce 1944 během World War II. V roce 2016 měl Dorset 771 900 obyvatel.
