Crimean Khanate

The Crimean Khanate was a Turkic khanate and successor state of the Golden Horde that ruled over the Krym from 1449 to 1783, with Bakhchisaray serving as its capital. Krymští chánové byli potomci Genghis Khan through his son Jochi, and they ruled over parts of Russia and Ukraine. V roce 1475 byla Ottoman general Gedik Ahmet Paša dobyl Krym a připojil ho ke khanátu, který se stal vazalem Osmanské říše v roce 1478. V roce 1774 byl vydán jako národně nezávislý stát, ale byl formálně anektován Russian Empire v roce 1783.
