Bitva u the Red October Factory

Bitva o továrnu Rudého října byla svedena mezi German Wehrmacht's 24. tanková divize, LI Armeekorps and the Soviet Red Army's 112th Guards Rifle Regiment, 39th Guards Motor Rifle Division in November 1942 amid the Battle of Stalingrad.

Ocelárna Krasny Oktyabr, pojmenovaná podle October Revolution of 1917, byla postavena v letech 1928 až 1930. V říjnu 1942 bylo velitelství 120th Rifle Regiment of the Red Army 39th Guards Motor Rifle Division byla umístěna v suterénu laboratoře továrny. Od 15. do 25. října 1942, jako Battle of Stalingrad started, the 253rd Tarashchansky Infantry Regiment of the 45 th Infantry Division fought fierce battles with the Germans. Dne 21. listopadu 1942, the panzergrenadiers of the 24th Panzer Division were ordered push forward again, supported by the last few mobile tanks of their division, and break through the resistance at the Red October Factory, where the 39 th Guards hungly on grimly for weeks. Továrna byla bombardována a ostřelována do trosek, což z útoků dělalo noční můru, která se ještě zhoršila s nástupem zimy. Boje o továrnu se dostaly do patové situace a v polovině prosince 1942 Taraščanský pluk bojoval na život a na smrt v laboratoři. Boje o laboratoř skončily jejím znovudobytím Rudou armádou 25. prosince 1942 a továrna byla plně osvobozena do 10. ledna 1943.
