The 59th Battalion was an infantry battalion of the Australian Army that was active from 1916 to 1919, from 1921 to 1942, and from 1952 to 1960. The battalion was formed in rural Victoria for service in the Australian Imperial Force during World War I, and it served on the Western Front of the Great War before serving on New Guinea and Bougainville during World War II.
