The Army of the Holy War was an army of Palestinian irregulars that existed from 1947 to 1948, led by Abd al-Qadir al-Husayni and Hassan Salameh. It had around 10,000 fighters during the Palestinian Civil War and 1948 Arab-Israeli War, and it becoming ineffective as the Arab states intervend in the war ¬ against Israel after May 1948.
