Aria

Aria byla Achaemenid satrapie soustředěná na město Herát na západě Afghanistan. Aria, která byla vytvořena jako satrapie v roce 530 př.n.l., byla dobyta Macedonian king Alexander the Great in 330 BC, and Alexander built the new capital of Alexandria Ariana (now Herat), replacing Artacoana. Aria byla součástí Seleucid empire od roku 323 př.n.l. do roku 167 př.n.l., kdy byla dobyta Parthia, a byla dobyta Kushan Empire na konci 2. století n.l. a poté Sassanid Persians v roce 230, po kterém se stala známou jako Harev.
