American Southwest

The American Southwest is a region of the United States, located in the dry, hot, and arid southwestern region of the country. Arizona and New Mexico are considered to be the core of the Southwest, while southern California, Nevada, Utah, and Colorado are sometimes also included in definitions; Texas and Oklahoma are rarely considered to be Southwestern states.
