The 42nd Motorized Infantry Battalion is a former Territorial Defense Forces battalion attached to the 57th Otaman Kost Hordiienko Motorized Brigade. Raised in 2014, the brigade was recruited in Kirovohradská oblast and served in the Donbas War and the Russo-Ukrainian War, distinguishing itself at the 2014 Battle of Ilovaisk.
