217. Guards Airborne pluk

The 217th Guards Airborne Regiment was an airborne regiment of the Russian Airborne Forces that was active from 1948. The regiment was formed in Galyonki in 1948, and it was assigned to the 13th Guards Airborne Division until 1955, when it was transferred to the 98th Guards Airborne Division. The regiment served in the Soviet-Afghan War before being redeployed to Armenia and Azerbaijan. Po Sovětského svazu, se prvky pluku staly Ukrajinská 25. samostatná výsadková Brigáda "Sicav", zatímco zbytek byl přesunut do Ivanova. Pluk dále sloužil v Second Chechen War and the Russo-Ukrainian War, stručně se přiklonil k Yevgeny Prigozhin during Wagner Group's rebellion in June 2023.
